Cambodia's Prime Minister and president of Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen attends a campaign rally in Phnom Penh, Cambodia June 2, 2017. Mr Hun Sen's critics accuse him of trying to turn the country into a one-party state. Acrimony between the two parties has risen steadily, with Mr Hun Sen threatening war should his party lose the 2018 poll. Speaking at a youth event in the capital Phnom Penh, Mr Hun Sen said the election will be held on July 29 regardless of whether there is foreign funding or not. "The National Election Committee will announce the final results ... there will be no need for anybody to recognise it or not, we don't need it," he said.
